Are we there yet?

We are HERE! Our flight from Portland went smoothly and we made it to our connecting flight in Houston -- we better have we had 3 hours! The flight to Managua was not so smooth. After taxiing on the runway for about 30 mins we returned to the airport due to a engine issue. Apparently one of the engines was not starting -- seemed important so we let a mechanic look at it for a few hours and then about 11:30 -- one engine repair and lots of paperwork later (according to the pilot) we took off 2 hours late.

I can't begin to tell you how beautiful our plane ride was. We had a beautiful sunny day and the water was sparkling blue and turquoise and the clouds looked like corral reef formations. Coming into Nicaragua the volcanos rising up into the clouds were awesome!

We got through customs just fine -- for us it was very easy and we had an adventure filled ride to the pastor's house we are staying at. The people sell things in the streets -- and I mean the middle of the street. Children were trying to sell us fruit and wash car windows and stand between the car lanes and work. The poverty is very real in a strange way. Tin houses are everywhere but many of the cars on the road are newer Toyotas and Kias. We watched people picking through garbage along sections but also see Xerox, 3M and Curves (yes Curves) in other parts.

The pastor's house is great. Very comfortable and full of great new sounds -- birds, dogs and bugs. Mostly birds (don't worry too much Team Two). The family cooked us an awesome dinner, we sorted through all the stuff we brought, prayed and we are now ready for bed. Tomorrow we plan to go to church and then hold and feed the kids at the orphanage after lunch.

Pray for health and energy for the team. While it is not really hot it is humid and it tends to wear on our energy.
Pray for all our teams fears and struggles because we all have them.
Pray for wisdom as we move through the next couple of days.
